Born on February 8, 1947, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Joe was the son of the late George Walter Catledge and Katie Hall Catledge. He spent much of his life in Lancaster, South Carolina, where he built a life rooted in family, faith, and community.
Joe was an accountant and dedicated more than 35 years of service to Springs Industries before retiring. He was known for his laid-back personality, kindness, humor, and generosity, and he was deeply respected by all who knew him.
He enjoyed water and snow skiing, participating in church activities, watching his Mississippi State Bulldogs, and volunteering with the American Red Cross. Above all, Joe found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy Stover Catledge; his two sons, Joseph Chad Catledge (Courtney Brooks Catledge) and Christopher Lee Catledge (Jessica Leigh Catledge); and his five cherished grandchildren, Katie Brooks Catledge, Marley Elizabeth Catledge, Addison Leigh Catledge, Eden Jane Catledge, and Clayton Austin Catledge. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Catledge Watson.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by no others.
