Joe David Cordell, 75, of Lonoke, Arkansas, passed away in the comfort of his home, on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was born on July 1, 1948, in Lonoke, to James Cordell and Lula Mae Cordell.
Joe grew up in the town of Lonoke and graduated from Lonoke High School in the Class of 1967.
He began working for Remington Arms and put in over 30 years before his retirement there. Joe was also a horseshoer and was in many rodeos. He team roped with his son, Cody. Joe loved his brother and his sisters very much. He loved his kids dearly and his granddaughter, Hannah. He had become a great-grandpa and he was called “Pa Joe’. Joe also enjoyed taking his dogs out for a good hunt.
He was liked and loved by many. If you were Joe’s friend, you were a friend forever.
Joe is survived by his children, Jody Anthony (Scott) of Carlisle, Cody Cordell (Jayme) of Benton; granddaughter, Hannah White (Garrett); great-granddaughter, Lennyn Jade White; and the mother of his children, Judy G. Cordell; brother, Robert “Burr” Cordell of Lonoke; sisters, Mary Janes Hallum (Carroll) of Lonoke, Pam Landis of Lonoke, Paula Bramlett (John) of Benton, Helen Bryant (David) of Greers Ferry; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Terry Joe Cordell; and his parents, James and Lula Mae Cordell.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Lonoke Baptist Church, in Lonoke, Arkansas. Visitation will be held one hour before services at 1:00 PM.
Graveside services will follow going to Carlisle Cemetery.
