JOE HANEY

JOE HANEY 01/09/1940 - 12/21/2025 Joe Lloyd Haney, 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 21, 2025, at home. Born on January 9, 1940, in Independence. He was a devoted husband and family man, known for his love his family, old trucks, classic cars and antiques. You could find Joe at any given Thursday night gathering with friends and their classic cars and trucks. Joe graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1958. Joe is survived by the love of his life, his wife of over 63 years Marilyn Sue Haney (Worsham); his son Michael Haney (Juanita), his daughter Rebecca Haney, grandchildren, Matthew Fischer (Haney) (Chelsea), Joshua Gregg (Krista) Jason Haney (Laura), Joseph Gregg, Amanda Haney (Tyler), Brandie Haney (Josh), and Nick Haney (Lindsey), and brother David Haney. Joe was preceded in death by his father Edsel Earl Haney and mother Mary Estelle Haney (Booker). A funeral/celebration of life was held for Joe on Friday December 26 at Royer Funeral Home, 1823 N Blue Mills Road, Independence.
