Joe C. Moore, 82, of Columbus, OH passed away at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus on July 30, 2025. Joe was born on September 16, 1942 in Orkney, Kentucky to Green and Bertha (Gearheart) Moore. After receiving his high school diploma, Joe became a diesel mechanic. He had worked for and retired from W.W. Williams where he was a top mechanic in his field. He treasured the time he spent boating, camping and trap shooting with his family. He also made many precious memories fishing with friends at Lake Erie.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Palestine Moore. Siblings Arvel Junior Moore, Eulah Mae Butcher, Margie Dye and Jerima Ballard.

He is survived by children Grenee Kay Green (Lewis), Joe C. (Kim) Moore II, Adam Moore; grandchildren Joe C. (Rina) Moore III, Ryan Moore, Deven (Savannah) Moore, Kylah Moore, Jason Moore, Nicholas White, Dezurae Harding; great-grandchildren Samson Moore, Aaliyah, Selena, and Coraline ; sisters Bessie Orsbon, Hester Ding-Kise; brothers John Rufus Moore and Gary Salyers; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 8th at Genesis Church, 3953 Casa Blvd. Grove City, OH 43123.

The family asks, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Genesis Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville, OH. Online condolences can be made at olivercheekfuneralhome.com
