Joe Sephue Smith Jr.

Joe Sephue Smith Jr., 67, of Nash County, passed away on December 26, 2025. Born on May 9, 1958, he was the son of the late Joe Sephue Smith Sr. and Ellen Tripp Felton. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack Felton.

Joe spent a lot of his time outdoors; he enjoyed the days he spent on the water on his boat with his family or fishing in tournaments. He spent time playing pool, hunting, grilling on Sundays for family dinners, and watching western movies late into the night. He was an avid lover of animals especially his cats

Joe loved simple pleasures in life like a great steak dinner surrounded by his family. He was a man whose greatest joy in life was found working alongside his daughter helping her accomplish her goals of remodeling homes.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sandra Smith; his daughter, Brittany Jo Smith Morris and her husband Robert; mother-in-law Edna Griffin, two brothers, Delano Smith (Laurie) and Keith Smith (Sheila); and his beloved granddaughter, Emma Morris.

Visitation will be held 1 P.M. to 2 P.M Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A private burial and service will follow.
