It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Joel A. Arietti, 34, of Somers CT. He departed this life on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Hartford Hospital after a short illness. Joel was born May 28,1991 in Springfield, Mass. He attended Palmer schools throughout his childhood and graduated from Mahar Regional H.S. He then attended the National Aviation Academy in Clearwater FL. Joel had an inventive mind and was a gifted academic who excelled at anything he put his mind to.
He was a business owner, talented Carpenter/Builder, and always used his skills to help his family. Joel had a genuine work ethic and took pride in the quality of work he did. He was the most devoted and generous son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend you could ever ask for. He was a favorite to many he crossed paths with his cheerful, humble, and radiant personality. Joel would give you the shirt off his back, always helping those in need, anything to make someone feel comfortable or welcome. He put the people he loved above himself in many ways. Joel will be fondly remembered for his heart of gold.
Joel loved to travel and visit new places and did so as often as he could. He loved being outdoors whether hiking in the woods, walking on the beach, exploring in a kayak or canoe, and especially riding his motorcycle. Joel "the mole" was an avid skateboarder for many years, he could not pass up the chance to try out a new skate park. He was a loving, fun, and devoted uncle to his nieces and nephew, they loved him dearly and looked forward to when he would visit them next. We will deeply cherish every precious memory we shared with him. Joel will be forever imprinted in our hearts and we look forward to seeing his beautiful healthy soul again. His love, his laughter, his kindness, and his infectious smile and beautiful eyes will continue to be with us until we meet again.
Joel leaves behind his mother Jennifer Paluch Gendron and the late Jeffrey Gendron; Father Renzo Arietti Sr; Brother Renzo Arietti and Hilary Somers and niece Lindy-May; Sister Jessica Ragonese and husband Xavier and niece Isabelle; sister Kate Arietti and Mom Sue Casey; Grandparents Jeanne and the late Fred Paluch (Poppy).
