Dr. Joel David, 69, entered celestial heaven on June 24, 2023. Joel was surrounded
by his loving family.
Joel graduated from The University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry then subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from UF in 1979.
After graduating from dental school there was nothing holding Joel back.
Joel initially opened The Dentist Place in Mandarin. He then opened the nationally renowned David and Associates in 1988. David and Associates was the first muti-specialty dental practice allowing patients access to all sub-specialties of dentistry under one roof. He was an inventor, innovator and entrepreneur by creating "D5 Teeth". He started "D5 Teeth" in 2016 which now has businesses in six states.
The accomplishments of Joel are numerous. He was the first dentist to advertise on television, he developed his own software and innovated the use of 3-D printing in the design and construction of Zirconium bridges allowing patients to receive complete sets of teeth in two days. Joel revolutionized the practice of dentistry. Setting himself apart in everything he did including the quality of advertisements where he received a Tally Award and a Clio Award.
When not busy with his growing practice, Joel could be found out on the golf course, a passion that he excelled at. He loved sports and fast cars, he enjoyed and shared with many his love of food, laughter, and good times.
He was one of the very first dentist to care for patients with HIV, and there are countless people who benefited from pro bono dental work here in Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Chicago. Joel was always generous, and he anonymously gave to countless charitable organizations. Everyone that Joel had contact with will have an everlasting beautiful memory of him.
Joel leaves his best friend, partner, and husband Brian Ware of 34 years, in addition Joel's sister Sandi Campbell and niece Whitney Campbell of Gainesville, Florida. Joel will be missed by all his friends, colleagues, and patients.
