Joel Wayne Dine, 78, of Canton, passed away, leaving behind a life defined by love that he shared with his wife Martha for almost 58 years, loyalty, and a steady presence that made others feel safe and cared for.
To know Joel was to know quiet strength and genuine warmth. He didn't need the spotlight-his kindness spoke for him. He showed his love in the ways that matter most: by being dependable, by working hard, by showing up, and by taking care of the people he treasured. Joel had a comforting way about him, the kind that could calm a room and make everyday moments feel meaningful. Family and friends will remember his steady guidance, his gentle humor, and the deep devotion he carried for those closest to him.
Born in
Rising Sun, Indiana, Joel was the son of the late Donald and Lucille Dine. He was a 1966 graduate of Glenwood High School. Throughout his working life he was self-employed, including years as the owner of Dine Amusements. Joel was a man of faith and attended Whipple Heights CMA Church. He was also proud to be active in the Greater Ohio Showmen's Association and was a Mason with membership in the Masonic Service Association of North America.
Above all else, Joel loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha; his son, Joel; his daughter, Joy; and his cherished grandson, Vincent-each of whom carries forward his love, his values, and his spirit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by those who went before him.
In the days ahead, those who loved Joel will find him in the stories that still make them smile, in the lessons he lived out quietly, and in the warmth he left in the lives he touched. Though grief is heavy, love is heavier still-and Joel's love will remain.
