Cannon Falls, formerly of Stanton - Joel Jay Fox, age 73 of Cannon Falls and formerly of Stanton, died at his home surrounded by family on Sunday morning, December 7, 2025.
Joel was born on July 27, 1952 in Northfield, the son of Charles Sr. and Elizabeth (Robinson) Fox. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1971 and later married Diane Davis on August 11, 1973 in Cannon Falls.
Joel lived and farmed his whole life in Stanton, and they raised three children together there. As Joel and Diane just moved in to Cannon Falls, the Fox century farm continues in the 4th generation with son, Bryce. Joel also worked at Spectro Alloys and Holden Farms, retiring in 2013.
Throughout his life, Joel enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a big storyteller and jokester. He especially loved pranking others! He will be forever missed by his family and friends that he so loved spending time with.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane; their children, Jason (Shelli) of Cannon Falls, Pauline (Corey) Samuels of Apple Valley, and Bryce of Stanton; 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Katelynn and Cody Fox, Evylou and Jay Fox, Tiana and Jasmine Samuels; his siblings, Marlys (Ron) Kordosky, Chuck (Joyce) Fox, Rick (Ilene) Fox and Joy (Rob) Fox; siblings-in-law, Doris Wenzel, Gary (Pam) Davis, Kevin (Marlys) Davis, Carolyn Wenzel, and Brenda Wright; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Fox; parents-in-law, Donald and Theresa Davis; and brothers-in-law, Mark Davis, Ed Wenzel, and Bruce Barnum.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, January 10 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at The Grand 02 Event Center, Cannon Falls. There will be a brief service at 3:00 pm.
Interment will be held prior to the gathering on Saturday, January 10 at 11:00 am at the Stanton Cemetery.
