Joel “Joey” Dewayne Rumsey, age 59, of Waverly, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Joey was born May 23, 1965, in Dickson, Tennessee, to Raymond Joe Rumsey and Mary Ann Buchanan Collins. He was married to the love of his life, Janet Dawn Sanker Rumsey, for 40 years. He was the Owner of Rumsey Heating and Cooling in Waverly, Tennessee. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waverly. Joey was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was the “GOAT” of Kentucky Lake! He was also known as the best baseball coach of all time. He was a “Master HVAC Repairman” and “Mr. Fix It.” Joey was the best husband, father, Pappy, cousin, and friend to all. He will be forever loved and missed.
Visitation: will be Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Adam Mullinax will be officiating the service.
Interment will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery in Waverly, Tennessee.
