Joel Long Obituary
He was born on February 15, 1948 in Hartwell to the late George and Ina Lewis Long. Mr. Long had worked with Dunlop, Hart EMC, Mica Mine, Springs Industries and William Jordan Carpet Cleaning for many years. He was a member of Zion CME Church. Joel loved spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memories are; children, Lasheki Allen of Elberton, Toneka Rucker of Aiken, S C., Ricky Martin and Cassandra Long of Hartwell, siblings, Barbara Long, Joyce Tucker Long, Sara Long and Carey Carter all of Hartwell and Wayne Long of Florida, brother in law Bob Davis of Bridgeport, CT, Carnell Craft (Vicky) of Bridgeport CT along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Ruby Nell Jackson, Lou Dean Martin, Harold, Calvin, Jim, and J.C. Long, Charlie Joe Craft, Jr., Marshall Craft, Barbara Rucker and Linzella Long, and Alma Jean Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Eleven o'clock from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. George Scott, Jr., and Minister Linda Jones officiating. Burial services will follow at Zion CME Church Cemetery.
Mr. Long will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 2-4 p.m. for those that wish to pay their respects.
Family members will be at the home of Cassandra Long, 5000 Bowman Highway in Hartwell.
Please keep the family of Mr. Long in your prayers in the days to come.
Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
