Joel Velazco was born on 1/10/63 in Tamazula Jalisco Mexico to Rafael Velazco & Maria Contreras. As a young child he grew up in Orange Cove California and moved to Colorado in 1981 where he built his life and family.
His family were farm workers as he grew up and when he moved to Colorado. He worked a short period for Monfort beef plant and then worked the rest of his career with the Naranjo Construction Co. Joel loved life, his hobbies were cars, motorcycles, fishing, music, dancing, and loved to cook for his family. But most of all, he loved his family.
He was married to Vicenta Velazco and together they had 4 children: sons, Joel Jr., Jeremy, Levi, & daughter Jessica. They also helped raise their nephew Landen.
They have 4 Grandchildren Adriel, Zaden, Asia, & Dominic.
Joel is a 2-time cancer survivor, he fought a long battle with it.
He proceeds his father Rafael Velazco, Stepmom Gloria Velazco, brother Isavel Velazco, sisters Amelia Velazco, and Martha Hernandez.
He leaves his siblings Leticia, Braulio, Carlos, Antonio Noelia, Daniel, Miriam Velazco, all from Mexicali Mexico, Pete, Jesse, Gloria, Emma, and Angel Leon, Manuel, and Rosalie Velazco from CA., Martin Zarate from Greeley Colorado, Rafael Velazco from Texas, Maria Hernandez from Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great ones.
Visitation will be on Sunday January 19th starting at 3:00PM at Adamson Life Celebration Home 2000 47th Avenue Greeley CO
Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday January 20th starting at 10:00AM at Trinity Spanish Assembly of God located at 601 21st Avenue Greeley CO
Graveside Service will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens after the Celebration of Life.
