Joesephene “Jo” Stevens, age 80, passed away June 9, 2024 peacefully at her home in Sandy, Utah. She was born April 20, 1944 in Ogden, Utah to Ray Sterling Thompson and Helen Irene Bradshaw. She was a kind, caring and nurturing individual who always put the needs of others before her own. Jo touched the lives of everyone she met, and they will forever be a better person for knowing her.

Jo attended South High School where she met her husband, Larry Stevens. They married on April 30, 1961 in Malad, Idaho. Later sealed in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on December 10, 1974. She was blessed with three children, three grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Jo had an amazing talent for Floral Designing, working in floral shops and out of her own home. Also, she worked for many years alongside her husband and son in the machine business.

In her free time, Jo enjoyed spending time with family and friends, keeping up with everyone on her iPad, as well as outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and hunting. She could out fish most of us, as long as someone would bait her hook, and un-hook her fish. She was always up for any kind of an adventure… her and Larry went on many mini adventures, wherever the car took them. Cooking for everyone and anyone brought her great joy. She spent as much time as she could with her family and in Mt. Carmel, Utah, the two things that made her the happiest.

Jo had so many favorite things, here are just a few. She grew and loved all kinds of orchids. Loved roses especially the peace rose. She was famous for her beautiful Christmas trees. Her house is full of peacocks of all kinds. Wind chimes, bird feeders, hummingbirds and crystals are also plentiful. She could never get enough Elvis Presley and old-time country music. Let’s not forget her love of ice cream and arcades with the grandkids.

Jo is survived by her son Steven Larry Stevens (Marsha), daughters Shirly Stevens, LeAnn Stewart, grandchildren Tristin, Blake, Brayden, great-grandchildren Larry, Race, Morris and Berkleigh, brothers Ray, Blane, Paull and sister Johanne. She is preceded in death by her husband Larry, father, mother, brother Dan, and grandson Tyler Patton.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Crescent Ridge Ward located at 11164 So Londonderry Drive, Sandy. The graveside service will take place on Friday, June 21, at 1:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, Utah.

Jo will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
