Joey Benjamin Johnson

Joey Benjamin Johnson, 29, passed away on Monday, September 4.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 4:00 at the Church of God of Kenly, 7046 NC 581, Kenly, NC.  Pastor Jason Gabbard will officiate.  A private service will be held in Gloucester, VA at a later date. 

 

Joey is survived by his son, Jace Johnson; mother, Arleigh Hogge of Gloucester, VA; father, Lewis Johnson and wife, Cathy of Bailey; sister, Heather Johnson and wife, Thais of Raleigh; sister, Becky Phillips of Wendell; brother, Grey Johnson of Bailey; and grandfather, Stephen Guy Hogge of Gloucester, VA; aunt and uncle, Diana and Gray Wooten of Gloucester, VA; uncle, Stephen A. Hogge and spouse, Jennylyn of Angeles, Philippines; aunt, Kim Creech and husband, Barry; aunt, Terri McCreary; and a host of loving cousins.

 

Joey was preceded in death by his grandmother, Araksy Hogge; grandmother, Doris Johnson; and grandfather, James “Pops” Johnson.
