Joey Benny Maes, age 49, of Clovis New Mexico, was called home on October 23, 2023. Joey was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Gloria Maes on November 20, 1973, and then adopted by his grandparents Ralph and Esther Maes. Joey was full of integrity, he was loyal, trusting, and an all-around amazing person. Joey was a businessman who made his ideas come to life — he started a business, Amaes’n Spaces, that he was very proud of! Joey was the life of the party, appreciated his time with friends and family, and was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed working out and taking his dog Augie for walks. He enjoyed reading and learning new things. He was full of knowledge and wisdom and always wanted to share that with others. He loved to watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football games and treasured being a grandfather, but most of all he loved his kids and was always proud of their accomplishments.   Joey is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Aunika Maes, his mother, Gloria Maes, grandparents, Ralph and Esther Maes, and cousin, Michael Moreno.  Joey is survived by his only son Christian Maes (Molly), his grandson, Christian Maes Jr., his daughters, Krista Maes, Delicia Garcia, Angelica Rubio, and Sophia Maes, his brother, Joel Reyes, and uncles, Ernie Moreno (Joann), Paul Apodaca (Emma), Rudy Apodaca, Ronald Apodaca, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.   Pallbearers will be Kenneth Chavez, Gordy Caballero, Paul Apodaca, Abel Moreno, Rudy Apodaca, and Gary Apodaca   Honorary Pallbearers: Tyrell Thompson, Marquis Thompson, Malachi Thompson, Ronald Apodaca, and BeBe Apodaca
