Johanne Marie Cavanaugh, age 75, passed away on Thursday November 6, 2025, in Shawano. Johanne was born on December 19, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late George and Annibelle (Noffke) Rassmusen. In 1971, she was united in marriage to Thomas Cavanaugh in Milwaukee. The couple spent a wonderful 35 years together before Thomas's passing in 2006. Johanne enjoyed spending time outdoors having fires and spending time with her family. She loved listening to music, especially older country music, and remembered her father, George, playing music when she was a child. Johanne's grandchildren were her world; she never said no to spend time with them.

Johanne is survived by her children, Laura (Bill) Scholar, Michelle (Tory) Jensen, Mike (Nicole) Cavanaugh; grandchildren, Dorothy (Marco), Kevin, Courtney (Alex), Nicholas, Rose, Amber and Brooke; great-grandchildren, Atlas and Haidyn; and siblings, Eddie Rassmusen and Jan (Al) Mutcher. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Johanne is preceded in death by her, husband, Thomas; siblings, Nancy and Dennis; and parents, George and Annibelle.

A celebration of Johanne's life will be held on Friday November 14, 2025, starting at noon at the American Legion 850 S. Lincoln Street, Shawano. Please join the family for many stories, laughs and remembering Johanne as she always was.
