BURGHOUT, Johannes – Born in Apeldoorn Holland September 20, 1936. Came to Canada on August 15, 1951. Son of the late Johannes (Hendrika) Burghout. Survived by his loving devoted wife Marguereta Marlene (nee Ervin) Burghout for 58 years. He will be sadly missed by his children Marg Sellers (Doug), Rika McLean (Steve), Joe Burghout (Valerie) and Jannette Mantik. Remembered by his 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers and sisters; Jim Burghout (late Alice), late Janet Dwars (late Albert), Betsy Closs (late Ken), Erna Kay (late Rob), and Ben Burghout (Cindy), and brother and sister-in-laws Earl Ervin (Linda), George Ervin (late Diane), Alvena Ervin, Archie Ervin, Lillian Evans (Gerold), Myra Mashke, Verna Ervin, Charlie Ervin (Pat), late Gilbert Ervin, Holly Ervin, Bonnie Gonnet (Peter), and Alan Ervin (Deana). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family. A retiree from Lassco Steel, now Gerdau of Whitby Ontario. He was an avid sportsman who loved to go fishing and hunting. His favorite hobbies were making picnic tables and gardening. He enjoyed making maple syrup. He will be remembered playing his harmonica volunteering at local seniors venues. Friends may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral Service in the chapel on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11 am. Rev. Erasmus Madimbu officiating. Spring interment Richards Landing Cemetery. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Sault Area Hospital for their dedicated care and compassion. Special thanks to C.B.I. and Bayshore Nursing. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Dementia, Parkinson, Diabetes or Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
