John Aalderks

John Aalderks (1915-2008) CEDAR FALLS- John Aalderks, 92, of Chariton, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Chariton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 23, 1915 in Parkersburg, son of Wilke and Emma (Jungling) Aalderks. He married Bertha Shipper on March 21, 1940 in Nashua. She died August 10, 1985. He married Beatrice V. Jones on October 23, 1986. Mr. Aalderks farmed in Grundy and Butler counties. Survived by: his wife, Bea of Chariton; two sons, David Aalderks of New Brunswick, NJ and Ronald (Penie) Aalderks of Waterloo; three grandchildren, David P. Carter of Hiawatha, Debra J. (Dixon) Neighbor of Marion and Sara Ann Aalderks of Coralville; and a step-son, Dr. Donald Jones of Florida. Preceded in death by: a daughter, Jolene VanSyoc; and step-son, Pastor Robert Jones. Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: may be directed to American Diabetes Association.
