John Albert

Powell - John L. Albert, age 83, pass away on September 28, 2025 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. John was born to John S. and Helen I. Decker Albert in 1942. He graduated from Green High School in 1962. John attended Ohio University where he received his BSED in 1966 and his MS in 1968. He also met his wife, Sarah L. Mosser, at Ohio University. John and Sarah were married in 1965. John worked at Parkersburg Catholic High School, St. Joseph's Prep Seminary, Bloom-Carroll High School, Licking Valley High School, and Lancaster City Schools where he finished his teaching career in 2003. John and Sarah retired to Harbor Island, SC in 2005 where they spent 15 wonderful "beach" years. Covid brought them back to Ohio to be closer to family in 2021. John is survived by his wife Sarah; son John M. (Tara) Albert; daughter Susan L. (Andrew Beogher) Albert; granddaughters Sara R. Albert and Bryn L. Beougher; and step-grandchildren Kelly Miller and Kenneth Miller. John will be cremated and at his request there will be no services.
