John Frank Alberta passed away in
Billings, MT, on Apri 1, 2023. He was born to Richard and Velma Alberta on February 26, 1932, in Red Lodge, MT.
John attended Carbon County High School and received a bachelor's degree at Chadron State College in Nebraska. John served in the Army in Korea from 1952 to 1953. He married Janice Ilene Krueger on May 27, 1956 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She passed away in 2017.
John worked as a teacher and coach at Billings Senior High School. He enjoyed coaching, golf, coaching football, golf, Nebraska Cornhuskers, golf, family, sports, friends, telling stories, Yellowstone Park, his wife, golf, coaching, young kids, grandkids, and his many friends.
John was preceded in death by his wife Jan; son Terry; mother and father; brothers Bill and Rich; sisters-in-law Norma, Linda, Doris; and brothers-in-law Kelly and Dean.
He is survived by his sons Bradley, Billings, and Mark (Kona), Middletown, CT; granddaughters; Nicole and Danielle Alberta and Jordan De La O; also great-grandchildren Santino and Vivianna De La O.
There will be a Memorial Service for John on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Atonement Lutheran Church, 1290 Sierra Granda Blvd, Billings Heights. There will also be a reception on April 15, 4 p.m., at Lake Hills Golf Course.
