John Alexander, 71, beloved husband, father, poppop, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at 1:42 a.m., with his devoted wife of 35 years, Charlotte Alexander, by his side.

John built a life rooted in family, laughter, and hard work. He spent his career as a skilled HVAC technician, known for always having the right tool and the knowledge to fix just about anything. He never hesitated to help others, whether family, friends, or neighbors in need.

He was the proud father of four daughters: Erika Alexander (Jared), Carolyn Johnson (Tom), Maureen Alexander (Chad), and Katelyn Langell (Brandon). He was blessed with six beautiful grandchildren, Stella, Max, Joshua, Declan, Tommy and Alexandria, who all brought him endless pride and joy, as well as his "grand-pets". John never missed an opportunity to share a sweet (chocolate) snack, play McDonald's, hang up a colored picture, or show the kids how to balance a ball on his leaf blower. He is also survived by his loving sister, Nancy Keegan.

John loved the simple pleasures in life: a cold Busch beer, a Clint Eastwood film, cheering on his beloved Eagles (go Birds!) and Phillies, and swapping jokes that always earned a smile (even if it was the worst joke you ever heard). He enjoyed "Friends" and "Breaking Bad", chocolate cake, pork roll, and the companionship of his cat, Snickers. Stubborn at times but always quick with a laugh, he had a high tolerance for pain and faced his lung cancer diagnosis with remarkable strength and resilience.

Those who knew John will remember his humor, loyalty, the love for his girls, and the way he filled every gathering with a laugh. His legacy lives on in the family he loved fiercely and in the countless memories shared over family gatherings, sports, beers, meals, and laughter.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 12 noon on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12 noon. Inurnment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you to buy yourself a beer, and share a memory with John.
