John D Allanson was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on March 14, 1958. He lived there until his family moved to K.C , Mo in 1969. John graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1976. While at N.K.C. he participated in sports, playing football and achieving excellence as a wrestler. Subsequently, John earned a BA in Business which he would put to good use as a restaurant manager at Perkins and later at the Olive Garden.

John's work career spanned 40+ years and in every instance, he was acclaimed for his dedicated and excellent performance. In particular John achieved renown as a caring and guiding colleague/mentor for the many people who worked with him.

John enjoyed Southwest culture and art. Beyond this, he was ever devoted to music, playing the guitar, singing, and creating his own compositions.

John was preceded in death by his son, Michael and by his parents, John and Amy Allanson. John is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his sisters Shan Williams (Bob), Kathy Christenson(Tim) ,and Terry Carter(Curt). John is remembered with great love by all members of his family including seven nieces and nephews and sixteen great nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of friends who will never forget him.

A celebration of John's life will be held on March 6 th at 10:00 AM at the Mountain View Cemetery at 7900 E Main street. Mesa AZ, 85207. In lieu of flowers, John and his family request contributions be made to Catholic Charities , Community Services, or another charity of the donor's choice.
