John M. “Andrianakis” Andes, 91, born in Kandalos, Tripoli, Greece; loving husband of the late Maria (nee) Pappadopoulos; devoted father of Sophie (Evagelos) Drinis, Helen (Brett) Verdun, and JoAnne (John) Kosina; Cherished grandfather of Maria (Steven) Zelten, Michelle (Kolter) Hornyak, Jon, Emma, and Great-grandfather of Ava Sophia and Thomas Francis; loving brother of the late Ismini, Thanasi, and Pitsa; Dearest brother-in- law of the late Toula, John, Vasiliki, Gust, George, and Tasia; Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. John immigrated to the United States in the mid-1960s with his wife and two young daughters. He secured employment at the National Baking Company, where through dedication and a strong work ethic, he turned the American Dream into a reality. During this time, he and his wife welcomed a third daughter. John had many passions, including hunting with his close friends Theofani, Vasilis, and George, and spending peaceful hours tending to his garden. Known affectionately by neighbors as “Mr. Caputo,” he was respected and admired by all who knew him. Above all else, John adored his family. He took immense pride in watching his grandchildren grow and thrive as successful professionals, and he was honored to earn the cherished title of great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by many and forever remembered with love. Visitation, Thursday January 22, 2026 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels 450 W. Lake St. Roselle, IL 60172. Funeral Friday, January 23, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at St Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 133 S Roselle Road, Palatine, IL. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
