John Andro

John Andro passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 93 surrounded by his loving family on October 11, 2023.John was the beloved husband of 68 years to Marika (nee Hristova). Devoted father of Monty Andro, of Avon Lake, Cheryl Zunis (Clifford), of Tucson AZ, and Michael Andro (Kristen), of Avon. Loving Grandfather of Joshua Zunis, Erin Andro-Masetta (Andrew), Heather, Ryan, Madison and Mason Andro and loving Great-Grandfather of Ella and Colton Zunis; also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. John was born in Cleveland on April 17, 1930, to his loving parents, Michael, and Sarah Andro. He was a life-long Avon Lake resident, that graduated from Avon Lake High in 1950, and worked at B.F. Goodrich in Avon Lake for 35 years, as an electrician. During his childhood, John was a dancer. He danced with many stars from that era and performed at President Franklin D. Roosevelts Birthday Ball. His love for dancing continued throughout his life at all of his family and friends' gatherings. As a teenager, John played football, basketball and baseball for Avon Lake High School. He served his country as a Staff Seargent in the United States Airforce during the Koren War. After retirement, John and his wife Marika enjoyed traveling with family and friends; however, he especially cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren. John loved being a grandpa and could always be heard cheering on his grandchildren at the many events he attended. John was known as the life of the party and always enjoyed making people laugh. His antics and jokes will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael, and Sarah, and his brothers, Michael, Alex, Victor, Theodore, Stephen, and Andrew.
