Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeVito Funeral Home on Jan. 31, 2026.
ARANCIO, Nicholas J. Of Cambridge, MA July 19, 1925 - January 29, 2026

Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Grossi) Arancio of Cambridge. Devoted father of Darilyn Arancio of Woburn, and Roniele Hamilton and husband Robert Hamilton of Rindge, NH. Cherished grandfather of Nicole Hamilton and her husband Scott, Phedra Hamilton-Reyna and her husband Mike. Great-grandfather of Daelyn, Kenley, Shaela, Alexa, Hadley, and Hamilton. And Great-great grandfather to Zara, Bella and Kyler. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Son of the late Francis and Nancy (Lucifori) Arancio of Jamaica Plain. Dear Brother of the late Frank Arancio of Revere, the late John Arancio of Dedham, the late Joseph Arancio of VA, the late Salvatore Arancio of FL., and sister the late Rose Bellitti of Jamaica Plain. Nick loved spending time with his family and friends and especially loved relating stories of his old days of his childhood days in East Boston and of his family in Italy. He retired from the Cambridge Police Department after 29 years of service that he loved. Once retired, drove a school bus for the Fessenden School until he was 82. A United States Marine Veteran, served from 1943 to 1946. He never took off his Marine ring and wore it till his passing. He will be forever missed.

And a Blessed Thank you to the Cambridge Police Association for making his 100th Birthday so special and to Neville at Fresh Pond where his remaining years were exceptional in so many ways, the warmth and dignity they showed were outstanding.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday February 10th in the DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mount Auburn St. WATERTOWN from 10:00am - 12:00pm noon. Following the visitation there will be marine honors and interment at the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
