John Armijo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Mortuary - Las Vegas on Jan. 30, 2026.
John Daniel Armijo, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on December 29, 1990 to Dennis Armijo and Patricia Sanchez.
John was a father, a son, a brother, a relative & friend to many.
Known for his friendly demeanor, generous spirit, and kind-hearted soul; he was an eternal optimist, always willing to see the bright side of life. John knew how to bring his joy in any room he entered. The first to arrive at the party and often the last to leave. In a room full of people he could find conversation with anyone, he had a way with people, from the most well-known to the misfit and everyone in between. Whether it be a deep conversation or just a bunch of laughs he knew how to embrace and find common ground with even the most unlikely person. He would be the first to pull over and help someone stalled at an intersection or the first to try a backflip off a cliff. A thrill no-fear attitude that brought us many memories.
He charmed his way into our hearts with his sweet smile, clown like humor, and a laugh that was irresistibly contagious. Always nonchalant, believing an apology or forgiveness need not be said and no mistake too big to be remedied.
John was a man of many interests, hobbies and talents. A multi-sport athletic individual who achieved a lot any time he put his mind to something. A state champion in wrestling and choir, he was multi-faceted. His interests varied from snowboarding, cards, music, guitar, singing he was not any one thing but so many. He gave back to the youth and also showed interest in coaching and guiding anyone willing to learn from wrestling to snowboarding. He had the patience and compassion required to teach without frustration.
He graduated from West Las Vegas & went on to earn several associates at Luna Community College while working construction with his dad. John was a gifted & intelligent man. His playful attitude allowed him to be an energetic dad and a fun uncle who loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leo & Vina Armijo, maternal grandmother Beatrice Aranda, uncle John Sanchez and aunt Delores "Dodo" Lopez.
He is survived by his son Aries (Melissa), parents Dennis and Patricia, brothers Eric (Wendy), Manuel, Michael (Alexandra), and Pablo, sisters Maria and Beatrice "Patriz", nieces Rian and Kyrie, nephew Elian, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rosary services will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday February 27th at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.
