John Auger Obituary

John C. Auger, 62, of Hudson, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2025.
He was born in Marlborough, MA on June 16, 1963, the son of Ellen M. (Campbell) Auger and the late David E. Auger. He graduated from Assabet Valley Regional Tech High School. John was known for his humor, kindness, and his willingness to drop everything to help someone else - even if it meant putting himself last.
John grew up in Marlborough and spent much of his life there, where he built both a career and a legacy through hard work and heart. As the owner and operator of A&T Construction, he poured his energy into every project he took on. He loved everything about building - the challenge, the craft, and the satisfaction of seeing something solid and lasting come from his hands.
John found peace outdoors and joy in the simple things: a plate of seafood or steak tips, a drive in his truck, a project in the workshop, or time spent in nature. He loved Maine, his family, and the color green - fitting for a man who found beauty in the natural world. Every holiday season, he could be counted on to enjoy a glass of eggnog and share a good laugh.
Above all, John loved his family deeply. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Nicole Curtis and her husband Ryan of Westminster, and Abigail Auger and her fiancé, Charlie Sweeney of Rockland, ME; his two grandsons, Levi and Mackland Curtis of Westminster, mother, Ellen Auger; his sister, Sheryl Rodenhiser; his brother, David Auger and his nephew, Nicholas Auger all of Hudson.
He was predeceased by his father, David Auger, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
John dreamed of buying land in Maine and building a home where his family could gather - a reflection of his nature: hardworking, loyal, and full of love. Though that dream remains unbuilt, the foundation of love and laughter he created will stand forever.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 2-4 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA, followed by a funeral service at 4 pm in the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor John by helping someone in need or sharing kindness in his memory - something he did every day without hesitation.
