John Austin Obituary
He was born in Kent City, Michigan to Clarence and Evelyn Austin March 27th, 1935. He graduated from Kent City High School in 1953. John was a man of many pursuits throughout his life. He was in the United States Army, and was a member of the Masonic Temple in Sparta. John was a Kent City Fire Department member for many years. He owned multiple businesses, making friends all over Michigan. He enjoyed fishing, collecting cars, storytelling, visiting with his coffee buddies, and an ice-cold can of Coke.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Evelyn, his first wife, Marion, son, Jonathan, and grandson, Jared. He is survived by his wife, Marge (née LaMaire), sister, Cheryl (Tom) Knauf, daughter Julie (John) Petruska, son Michael (Tina Cox) Austin, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service and family memorial will be held in the spring.
