John, Rest on Peace, old friend. You will definitely be missed!

John and I were good friends in Junior and Senior High School. We did many things together in his WWII jeep. I lost contact with him but kept up a little when I saw his mother. From all the comments it's obvious that he remained the same good guy and friend I knew.

Back in the day John was one of the sparkplugs in the District that made it place fun to work. Hanging out with John at Herrington's or at the Ottman's ski cabin was always a good time. John always had good things to say about life his friends and in particular his latest ski adventures. God bless him and welcome him home. Rod C.

A hearty laugh, great intellect and gentle soul. People like his come along rarely. We are all privileged to have known John.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of John. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure that fills your heart with love and brings you joy. May you find comfort in Jesus promise of the hope of everlasting life at John 6:40.

When the prime contractor for the Oakland Harbor Dredging Project filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, John Azeveda was the only one who could pull the project back from the brink of disaster. Not only did he have a keen intellect, but he also had an uncanny sense of timing/humor, just when we needed it the most. He will be sorely missed. Merry G.

John was a great supervisor & mentor to my husband & myself. We will miss John greatly.

I dont really know where to begin. John was one of my best friends for a very long time. His bright spirit and unmatched enthusiasm set him apart and made him a pleasure to work with in the Corps of Engineers. Whatever the situation he would rise up to it. Skiing with John, the past decade in Colorado, and prior to that in California, with and without families,has been a joy beyond words for me John, I will miss you. Your friend Gary Hershdorfer
