John S. Bachelder Jr. 83 passed away at Evansville Heights on Monday July 31, 2023. John was born on July 31,1940 in
Evergreen Park, IL to John & Dorothy (Jones) Bachelder. John graduated from Blanchardville High School in 1960. John married Judith Duerst in 1964. They had two children. A daughter Justine, and a son Jon.
John worked for General Motors starting in 1963 and retired as a maintenance supervisor in 1994. John was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed listening to the Chicago Cubs on the radio, cheering on Notre Dame Football, & attending Green Bay Packer games. John was very proud of being a Packers season ticket holder since 1967 & attending the "Ice bowl".
John is survived by his daughter Justine (Greg) Snyder, grandchildren Jacob Bachelder, Brooke Bachelder, Evan Snyder, and Jack Bachelder. His brother Dennis (Susan) Bachelder, nephew Brian Bachelder. Special friends Steve and Tina (George) Kvistad, Tony George. John was preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Bachelder, son Jon Bachelder, brother Don Bachelder, and special friend Judy George.
The family would like to thank the staff of Evansville Heights for all of the care and friendship they provided to John over the years that he lived there. Also, thank you to Mercy Agrace Hospice staff for all the care and support.
