John Bammel Obituary

Steve was born to Frank and Jeri Bammel on November 5th, 1947 in Sturgis, Michigan. He served 4 years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a flight simulator trainer and mechanic and earned Airman of the Month honors. In his later years he was also an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. After his service he earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance at California State University Hayward all while starting a family. He loved fishing, working on cars, playing darts and pool. Steve was admired for his ability to fix anything mechanical and always ended up with "unneeded" extra parts. He had a way of lighting up a room and made an impact on everyone he met. If you knew Steve long enough you knew he never said goodbye, but rather "Bye For Now."
Steve was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jeri; and sister Debbie Marino. Her is survived by his ex-wife, Ruth Bammel and their children: his oldest daughter Dawn Bammel of Wisconsin, son Craig of California, as well as his brother Mike Bammel of Washington state and countless cousins nieces, nephews and friends.
No funeral or public memorial is planned. In Lieu of flowers please consider donating to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or the Vietnam Veterans of America in honor of John Steven Bammel.
