John Michael Barnhurst, 56, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on August 8th, 2024. John was born on September 21st, 1967, to Michael Edward Barnhurst and Carolann Jensen Barnhurst. John graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.
John loved remote-controlled cars, giving gifts to his nieces and nephews, and spending time with his friends and family. He was also passionate about science fiction, particularly enjoyed Star Trek and Star Wars, and had a collection of models and toys.
John is survived by his parents: Carolann and Michael Barnhurst and Siblings: Susan Cloe Carter, Paul Wesley & Sharolyn Kaye Barnhurst, Marie Ann Barnhurst, Mark Tom & Sandi Barnhurst, Elaine Edith and Jeffrey Mark Roettele, and Nieces and Nephews: Adrian Thayne, Amber Thayne, Jeffrey Ryan, Samuel Barnhurst, Hannah Barnhurst, Ryan Barnhurst, Sarah Barnhurst, Travis Roettele, and Keith Roettele.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Barnhurst and nephew, Adam Thayne.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1515 South 200 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84115 with a viewing before services at 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. Interment will be at Memorial Lake Hills Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.
