John W. "Wes" Barton III passed away at his home Tuesday June 4, 2024, surr-ounded by his wife and children. Wes was born March 9, 1952 to John W. Barton Jr. and Helen Barton in Dallas, TX. Wes was a large and impactful presence in many lives. Wes grad-uated from Texas A&M University and joined the Marine Corps as an officer, both of which would help define who Wes was as an adult. Wes had a tremendous sense of humor, and no one was immune to his pranks, including his kid's friends. He was a good man and his loss will be felt by family, friends, and acquaintances for a long time to come.
Wes is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Debbie Knox Barton; son, Jake Barton and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Joshua, Konnor, and Avery, son, Kevin Barton and wife, Tracie; son, Luke Barton and wife, Ashley; grandchildren, Kyndal and Hunter. He was preceded by his father, John W. Barton Jr.; mother, Helen Jane Barton; brother, James Otis Barton.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett, located at 1601 N. 4th St., Crockett TX 75835.

Family game night became much more enjoyable when Wes and Debbie joined in. Our children were excited knowing they would be playing, too. It was fun listening to Wes debating with our children about the origin of chicken fingers. He was a kind and gentle man.
