Mr. John Wayne Benton

Mr. John Wayne Benton, 61, of Morganton, passed away March 21, 2018, at his residence, following a period of declining health. John was born June 4, 1956 in Burke County to the late James Theodore Benton and Annie Estella Duckworth. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Ray Benton and James "Jim" Benton. Survivors include his wife, Tammy Benton of the home; one son, Johnathan Benton; one daughter, Angela Benton; one grandchild, Eli Randolph; four sisters, Brenda Williams, Jane Agurie, Margaret Kincaid and Eva Crowder; four brothers, Paul Benton, Carl Benton, Robert and Aaron; numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special loved one, Alyssa Lail. The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
