John Bertucci Obituary

John Bertucci, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully and entered his eternal rest on November 22, 2022, in Covington. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores Colomb Bertucci for 56 years. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Born on July 28, 1937, John was the son of the late John Bertucci, Sr., and Hilda Victoria Grenner. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores, his brother, Peter Charles Bertucci, his grandchildren Jordan Michael Bertucci, Joseph Augustine Bertucci, Adam, Amy, Ann, Matthew, Catherine, Christopher, Mary, Paul, Marie, and Claire Montelepre, and his great-granddaughter, Emma Hope Buras. John graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1955. He was a Master Printer and Restauranteur in New Orleans for over 50 years. John was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed watching his children participate in sports, music, dance, cheer, and other activities. He was a faith-filled Catholic and active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Mark, and St. Anselm parishes. He served in many ministries and was a member of the Laity of the Daughters of Divine Providence. He was also a committed Eucharistic Adorer at St. Anselm Catholic Church. John was a voracious reader and particularly enjoyed studying archeology and history. His favorite moments were when he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who loved him dearly. Since 1975, John and his wife, Dolores, opened their home to many foster children. In 1987, John received the distinguished honor of Father of the Year in New Orleans for his devotion to his family. John is survived by his sisters Hilda Garrity and Elizabeth Kimball. John is also survived by his children: Ramon Isidro (Rebecca), John III "Johnny" (Leslie), Mark Raoul (Carolyn), Lisa Bertucci Kulakowski (Chris), Beth Bertucci Montelepre (John III), Melissa Bertucci Pierce (Russell), Matthew Seth, Christina, Jacquelyn Bertucci Landry, James John (Nicole), Melissa Mary, Malissa Ann, Joshua John, Joseph John, Alexander John, Alissa Nicole, Adam Mark, Marc David, Mason Anthony, and Lilly Marie. John is also survived by his grandchildren: Ramon (Stacey), Robin (Raymond), John IV (Sarah), James, Joshua, Jesse, Ryan (Olivia), Matthew, Nicholas, Jonathan (Ali), Jamie (Josh), Julia, Katie (Jared), John IV (Sarah), Sarah (Scott), Stephen (Macie), Emily, Will (Raluca), John Paul (Shiloh), Alexander, Cole, Micah, Maliyah, Ricky IV, Arabella, Brayden, Nathan, Makaylea, Trevor, Harvey, and Violet. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Samuel, Sofia, Ollie, Abbie, Emmie, Charlotte, Madelyn, Cohen, Brady, Theo, Addison, Lily Kate, Iris, Juliana, John V, Luca, Jolie, Jacques, Evangeline, Ella Mae, Anne, Andrew, and Elizabeth. Visitation will be held at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary Street, Madisonville, LA, on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Rosary and Words of Remembrance at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Msgr. Frank J. Giroir will celebrate the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457. Arrangements are by Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities Adoption Services (www.ccano.org/adoption/) in the name of John Bertucci Jr.
