Sorry to hear about John´s passing. His passion for music and photography was evident. He made the world a better place. Thanks.

When I joined the KACU board many years ago John was a warm and kind friend who proved to be a great leader. Prairie Home Companion in Abilene under his leadership was a phenomenal success along with other notable events. What a great legacy he leaves!

So very sorry for your loss. I have so many memories of music connections with John in high school years and later in life. May you be comforted by happy memories.

Jeannie, I am so sorry to learn of John´s passing. Please let me know when and where you would like me to visit. I am in both Austin and Georgetown AAUW branches if you are interested in joining one.

So saddened to know of John's passing. I know, however, that he is in a much better place and is likely enjoying the presence of many friends and loved ones who greeted him. May God bless you all with wonderful memories and the peace that comes from our Loving Lord.

I was so sorry to hear of John´s passing. He was a great blessing in my life and I loved him dearly. John was part Teddy Bear (about those he loved) and part Grizzly Bear (about causes he felt passionately). I pray that God grants you and your family comfort and peace in the days and years ahead.

Jeanne, I'm so sorry to learn of John's passing. I know how you both looked forward to being closer to your family. I had no idea you had moved, but I texted him about the bluebonnets at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery this spring. Now I understand why I didn't hear back. I will forever think of him whenever I pass and see the bluebonnets. I will remember his deep voice, the wonderful memories of all the great events we had at KACU, the talks we had, and the kindness he showed to so many people. He was an incredible photographer in addition to his wealth of musical knowledge. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I hope God holds you gently in His hands in the days and weeks to come. Jeannie, this breaks my heart. I was thinking of you guys just the other day and how happy you must be living nearer your grands. I loved working with John and the KACU staff for those many years. I always looked forward to staying with you guys and getting the chance to visit and relax. John was a wonderful man. He was funny and talented and he loved his family and his work. I am sending heartfelt prayers for peace for you and your family and all those who loved John. I will miss him.

I well remember the opera workshop mentioned in the obituary. John and I did cello, guitar and voice performances at some scattered churches in big country. I treasure black and white photographs of me and my wife Susie he did in 69. Then he played in our wedding. We spent good times talking and one of our trips to the lake is in a prose piece he did for the HSU literature/art publication 56 years ago. He loved a quick trip to show off the organ when we met at HSU Homecoming. He was Alumni Pres for a while. I'm simply not ready for him to be physically gone. Huge hugs to you all.

I am saddened to learn of John´s passing. He was an extremely talented photographer, and I enjoyed working with him for many years.

John was the Voice. Not just the "big voice" of KACU, but the voice of a friend, a mentor, and an ever-present source of support.

John was my first Program/General Director, and he taught me so much. He taught me that our work mattered. It mattered to sound polished, to take our work seriously, and to make it the best it could be. At the same time, he was never afraid to have fun. I loved that about him.

He was an incredible mentor to have at the very beginning of our journey as broadcasters, entertainers, and journalists. So many of us owe so much of who we became to John.

I´ll miss that voice deeply.

I look forward to seeing him, and hearing him again one day.

John was a talented man especially in the photography business at the Reporter News and with his work with KACU FM. My prayers are with his wife and family during this transitional time in their lives.

May his family find the peace that passes all understanding through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I'm sad to read of John's death. John's vast array of talents enabled such meaningful contributions to his community, to things he loved, and to life itself. Truly a Renaissance man, John's passion for all he undertook improved the world around him. Rest in peace, John. Sympathy to Jeannie and all his family and friends.

I am so very sorry to learn of John´s death. As you know he & my own John (Dr. John C. Campbell) we´re great friends as we often went to Glorieta together as well as eating at Perini´s together following organ recitals. He was a fine man, a great photographer & reporter.

So sorry to hear about your loss. He was an amazing man that lead a wonderful life surrounded by those that loved him. Sending prayers and thought your way.
