we came to Triple-S years before Bro. John´s accident. He would play 3-on-3 basketball, putting the teens to shame... At Triple-S ranch, John Bishop Would say, "O, there´s a report of a broom found in the rafters of the girls dorm #3. You guys don´t wanna marry a girl like that cause , one day you´ll come home and the broom will fall on your head and break your arm. Then you´ll lose your job , you´ll lose your car , you´ll lose your house , you´ll lose your kids, and the dog dies.".. The Alan Pierce family, David, Laurie, Ken, John, Jacob, & Joshua

In August of 1997 I met Bro. John at our August conference at Friendship Baptist Church. It was the first one and he was one of the speakers and it may have been his first message after the meningitis and Bro. Jack Stanley was preaching for the first time after his stroke. Bro. John was slowly reading a passage of scripture and he looked at Bro. Jack and told him that he might read faster than but he could outrun Bro. Jack and cracked everybody up. Many memories of Bro. John. I loved the way he always said "my Donna".

I remember as a teenager, when Brother John would come to our church in East Tennessee. He was always a great blessing and an encouragement.
One year, he came for homecoming and told a hilarious story about spilling hot chocolate on his lap, and, in an attempt to stop the burning, poured a glass of ice water in his lap as well.
At the meal following the service, one of the ladies serving food brought him a cup of hot chocolate, and I followed her with a glass of ice water. I set it at the table, and told him "just in case".

It was a privilege to know this man, one of the most dedicated Christian young men that I ever have known. He truly loved his Jesus and served him many years. I had the privilege of teaching this young man in Sunday School during his teen years. Patsy and I send our love to Donna and the family during this time.
