John Edward Black also known as "quick" was born on July 3rd, 1942, to the late Lafayette (Lathen) Black and Mary Frances Bolton.
After a battle with cancer Johnny entered eternal rest on October 28th, 2025. Johnny served in the US army as an expert shooter for two years and 11 months, where he received the purple heart medal after being wounded in the Vietnam war.
Johnny was proceeded in death by his bothers: James (Katherine) Black, Bobby (Patricia) Porter and sister Doris (Marvin) Young
Johnny leaves behind his sister Lucy (Curtis) Wheeler and his loving daughter Mary Yevette Warren, four grandchildren: Drequell Dashon Warren, Damontre'ell Oshawn Warren, Markerion Devon Warren and Alexys Marie Warren. Three great grandchildren Aniy'lah Cobb, Messiah Warren, and Demontre'ell Warren Jr, and a host of niece's nephews and friends
Those we love go out of sight,
But never out of mind
They are always cherished in the Hearts they leave behind.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we love is still,
A place is vacant in our hearts,
There's a void that can't be filled
