Obituary of John S. Bombara
John S. Bombara, 75, of Milmay NJ, passed away on April 29, 2025, at Inspira Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, John moved with his family to Vineland, NJ, where he lived on Lincoln Ave. He spent much of his youth with his best friends John Rawlins and Robert Murray. They had many life experiences together moving through the ranks of the Boy Scouts, spending one week a year together at Camp Kimball earning their many merit badges hiking and swimming. They met at Rosary Hall every Friday night under the leadership of Scoutmaster, Mr. Sinclair.
John graduated from Vineland High School in 1968, where he received a varsity letter in football and wrestling. John had love for sports, especially soccer. He also had a love for music, Mr. Transferini would come to the house to teach him the finer points of playing the accordion, we all came to hate the song "Ladies of Spain".
Growing up, John spent a lot of time with his father who taught him the skills needed to travel through the woods without a compass. John loved hunting, fishing and crabbing. His love for hunting garnered him a spot in the Maine records book for harvesting a 235 lb. buck that put him in the Biggest Bucks of Maine Club.
Upon graduation from Vineland High School, John was accepted to Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana where he majored in Civil Engineering. He returned to Vineland to accept an apprenticeship in the IBEW Local 592 at that time where he worked his way up to full journeyman.
Later in life he decided he was missing out on something, so he purchased a Harley Davidson Softail Classic, he attended many Poker runs with Dave Tamanini, for charity. He truly did love to ride. Among the many adventures and activities in his life, John also spent time as a Milmay Volunteer Fire Fighter.
He is predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Gloria Bombara.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia (Pierotti); son, Mathew wife (Jamie), Chelsea Harrington husband (Darren) and Alex. He is also survived by his brothers, Vincent wife (Dolores), Salvatore wife (Donna) and Theresa Hanna husband (Anees); grandchildren, Kyle and Madison Bombara, Tony and Nicholas Harrington; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00am until 12:30pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland. A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery 736 Union Rd, East Vineland, NJ 08360.
