John Andrew Boothe, 96, of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2022 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born on August 7, 1925, son of John and Alfreda (Hoschar) Boothe, in West Columbia, WV. John proudly served as a Navy veteran in WWII and was a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Corning for 50+ years. He had a lifetime career as chief accountant with Gould Inc, first in McConnelsville, and then in Tempe, AZ until he retired, when he moved to Bagdad, AZ. He returned to Ohio in 2000. John cherished his memories of hunting and fishing with his family. John was a resident at Brookdale Assisted Living in Zanesville for seven years where he was cared for by a loving staff.
John is survived by his daughter Kathy (Jeffrey) James of Hopewell, Ohio and his son Jeffrey (Carmen) Boothe of Spring Creek, NV, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Pat Boothe of Longview, Washington.
Preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Dorothy (Myers) Boothe, three sons John, Randy, and Darryl Boothe, and four sisters, Edna (Russ) Griffith, Opal (Jim) Powell, Anne (John) Townsend, and Beryl (Wally) Cisco.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Mr. William L. Meaige officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Dorothy, with full military honors accorded to him by The United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29 at Zion Cemetery, Portersville.
The family is requesting that masks be worn at all times out of respect for family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perryton Church of Christ, 6202 Licking Valley Road, Frazeysburg, OH 43822.
