John Wesley Botter, Jr., 88, lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, met his Savior face to face on November 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 1, 1936. Johnny was a devoted and loving father and a proud and doting grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a scholar of the Word of God, and a pastor and mentor to many in the churches and community in our area, and a large presence in Holman Prison. He was an avid supporter of missions.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Botter, Sr., his wife, Reba Pierce Botter, twin daughters, Reba and Rita Botter, granddaughter, Oliva Kathryn Smith, and brother, Paul E. Botter, Sr. He is survived by his children John W. Botter, III (Mona), Kathryn Botter Smith (Greg), grandchildren Hannah Frederic, Libby Smith and Katelyn Botter, and great-grandson Sawyer Frederic. He also leaves behind two cherished sisters, Mary Elizabeth Miller and Margaret Rose Beech. Johnny is also survived by many more precious family members and friends, whose lives he touched and brought him great joy.
A visitation service will be held on Monday November 11, 2024, at Praise Family Church from 10:00 a.m. followed by a church service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Praise Family Church, 2605 Dawes Rd., Mobile, AL 36695
