John Bowles IV

John Bowles IV quietly slipped away Sunday, June 26, 2022, at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. John, aka "John-John," "Honey," "JB," "Unc," "Brother Man," and "Honey Bunny" was born September 7, 1968, in Savannah, Georgia, to John Bowles III and Marlene Mary (Peace) Bowles.
"John-John" is the oldest of four blessed and highly favored siblings and were "US Army "BRATS!" and served a year tour of duty with his parents at Campo Darby, Italy, in addition to (2) three-year tours of duty in Mannheim Germany at Taylor and Coleman Barracks where he built lifelong friendships with Mannheim Bronco Alumnus. Germany was an awe-inspiring experience for them that lasted a lifetime. "John-John" and his siblings would fight like "cats and dogs, daily," when they were little! And, when they were not fighting like cats and dogs, they were as thick as thieves! The bound has continued to last long into adolescence and into adulthood, this is how close they are, together! And how much they truly "LOVE" each other!
"John-John" joined the Army in 1993 and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington where he met Nichole Cadena, and ultimately asked Nichole for her hand in marriage, together they raised three outstanding, wonderful, marvelous sons and eventually blessed with six grandchildren. "John-John" left the active duty to the Army Reserves in 1999 and slowly progressed into civilian life when in due course he deployed for "Operation Iraqi Freedom" with his Army Reserve unit in 2003 with 449 PSB from Grand Prairie, Texas. "John-John" returned to civilian life and worked for Dallas Morning News –Belo Corporation for several years then ventured into the government sector which continued to lead to some lifelong friendships along the way. He received his Bachelor's Of Science in Criminal Justice and then went on to receive his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice. When "John-John" formed friendships, it was not just the average friendship, he made bounds where it felt like having another brother. He brought laughter, joy, and craziness to all that he met and will not be forgotten how big his heart was to those he called friends.
"John-John" was predeceased by both paternal grandparents; John and Charlotte Bowles III, maternal grandmother Mary K. Peace, Grand Aunt Mary Jones Proctor, Aunt Jacqueline E. Bowles, Nephew Jordan Walker, Father/Mother-in-law Dwayne, and Darlene Bixby and Niece Tiffany Roehl and Brother-in-law Paul Morning of Montana.
He is survived by his wife, Nichole Cadena-Bowles, Sons; Charmin (Jessica) and Aaron Nettles, and Elisha Cadena-Bowles. Grandchildren; William "Martez" and Aliciana Merrifield, Kennedi Jones, Legasi Porter, Lilli, and Christien Nettles. Parents; John and Marlene Bowles. Uncle Ronald (Maryann) Bowles, siblings; Marlene (Wayne) Scott, Tai and Timothy (Yolonda) Bowles and Nieces; Jasmine Walker, Tiara Jones, Heather Wilson, KrisAnn Buffalo. Nephews; Trevor and Tommy Jones, Joshua Felton, Timothy Justice, Joseph Life, Aidean James Bowles and Zack (Marcia), Tate and Ty Jimmy Wilson and Brandon (Nelly) and Ruben Roehl. Special friends; Fred L. Walker III, Mallory (Lauren) Chambers, Patrick (Tiffani) Benjamin, NaTonja Diaz, Jose (Arlene) Montero, Cedric Brown, Allen (Jeanette) Williams, Vann (Shameeka) Threats, Rodney (Bea) Youngblood, Lawrence Walton, Dan Hanley, and Eric Jones. Special family friends; Tory Hubler, Fredrick Johnson, James Naveunxay, Johnathon Ollison, Chris Gray, Kualaque Kalama, Sasha Watts Abiodun, and Katarina Proctor. Sister-in-law's; Sharon (Roger) Roehl, Michelle Cadena, and Anita (Chad) Littlehead, all of Montana. "john0John" has made so many lifelong friends, please don't think we've forgotten you. You all have certainly placed a mark on our sweet "John-John's" life, and we thank you all for loving him and including him in your lives!
