John Earl Bradley, 94 of East Fork Road, Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born June 10, 1928, in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Edward and Anna Flora Bradley.
John was a lifelong farmer and a Korean Army veteran where he received the Korean War Occupation Medal, Five Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal and the Merit Unit Citation. He was a member of the Owingsville First Church of God, the Bath County Election Board for over 40 years, and enjoyed coon hunting, fish hogging and farming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons Earl Thomas Bradley and Michael Dean Bradley. One daughter Brenda Hughes. One grandson, John Gilvin. Three brothers, Herbert Harrison Bradley, Elgin Branch Bradley and George William Bradley. Two sisters, Martha Susan Myers and Bonnie Louise Razor.
Survivors include his wife Edith Henderson Bradley whom he married November 6, 1948, one son, James"Jimmy" Bradley (Katrina) of Owingsville, three daughters, Judy Guiler of Lexington, Carolyn Becker of Owingsville and Linda Hatton (Gerald) of Carlisle, Kentucky and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Williams Bradley of Owingsville. Eleven grandchildren: Tom Bradley, Nathan Bradley, Bradley Hollar, Griffin Bradley, Conner Hatton, Kim Kirn, Kristin Baehler, Kari Guiler, Allie Becker, Kelsey Eymann and Megan Owens. And 18 great-grandchildren: Jackson Kirn, Bennett Kirn, Hunter Bradley, Eli Bradley, Cameron Gilvin, Clayton Bradley, Lincoln Bradley, Finley Baehler, Bowen Baehler, Caiden Smith, Cooper Hinton, John Bradley, Lillian Bradley, Sophie James Baehler, Bella Hinton, Holly Bradley, Leigh Ann Gilvin and Shirley Gilvin. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Owingsville First Church of God with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Mt. Sterling American Legion Post No. 22 will be in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel, Kentucky.
Visitation at the Owingsville First Church of God will be from 11:00 am Saturday until the hour of the service.
Pall bearers will be his grandsons.
In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Owingsville First Church of God.
