John "Bubba" Calvin Schrum, Jr.

John “Bubba” Calvin Schrum, Jr., 67, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Born in Virginia on February 26, 1959, he was the son of John “Tootie” Calvin Schrum, Sr. and Elizabeth Louise Henshaw Scrhum.

In addition to his father, John is preceded in death by his nephew, Jason Everett Schrum, and his cousin, Bernard E. Eanes, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Debra Gayle Schrum; daughters, Melissa Ann Bernard (Tripp) and Abigail Lynn Fulgham (Brad Augustine); mother, Elizabeth Henshaw Schrum; grandchildren, Brynn, Eric, Teagan, and Shelby; sisters, Janet Marie Schrum and Donna Lynne Davis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

John was a supervisor for Reynolds Bellwood Printing Plant for 45 dedicated years – retiring in June of 2024. A man of few words, he enjoyed hunting and found peace in the outdoors, but nothing meant more to him than his beloved family.

A private viewing for family members will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights Chapel, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. A funeral service will begin at 2:15 p.m. after the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will take place privately at the Schrum Family Cemetery.
