Very sorry to here the news belatedly. He was my mechanic for over 15years and I enjoyed his sense of humor and his honesty and craftsmenship as a mechanic.

When I moved to Connecticut in 1992, I passed by Mike's Repair Service and stopped in on the spur of the moment to see if any job openings were available. John hired me on the spot and we started a friendship that endured right up to the day of his passing. I learned a great deal from John. John had mechanical knowledge and a knack for learning new technology that I haven't seen in anyone else. He could look at the most complex machine and figure out how it worked and why it wasn't working correctly. He was truly brilliant as a technician. When I moved on to 'greener pastures' John always let me know he was there for me. I'd frequently use him as my 'tech line' to bounce ideas back and forth when I had a vehicle that had me stumped and he was always there to borrow that odd tool from that nobody had except him. I can say without a doubt, John made me a better mechanic, and for that I will always be grateful.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. John was so nice to me and my father when my brother passed away. He also was very kind to my brother prior as well. Always lending a hand or sharing a smile. He was a great man and I am eternally grateful for him in my father's life when my brother passed away. You will be missed, John.
