John Franklin "Jack" Cannady, 68, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1957, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late Leslie James Cannady, Sr. and Joyce Hart Cannady.

Jack built a successful career in banking with Commercial Bank, Ameris Bank and lastly Envision Credit Union F/K/A Flowers Employees Credit League. His professionalism and kindness were deeply valued by so many in the community evidenced by his inability to go anywhere without knowing someone. He was a devoted member of Dawson Street Baptist Church and a former lifelong member of theThomasville Exchange Club, always giving back to his community with generosity and faith.

He is survived by his wife, Julie M. Cannady of Thomasville, GA; his daughter, Kelly Joyce Cannady of Merritt Island, FL, his siblings, Wanda Cannady Stewart (Ernie) of Thomasville, GA, and Leslie James Cannady, Jr. (Cristy) of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Andrew Stephens (Gretchen), Amanda Stephens (Blake), and Eli Stephens, five grandchildren and a niece & three nephews.

Jack will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his relaxed, easy going demeanor and his dedication to his family and friends. He loved telling stories and sharing his latest jokes.

Jack participated in organized YMCA youth sports and continued sports in junior high and high school. He quarterbacked the 1974 National Championship team at Thomasville High School.

Memorial services, officiated by Jimmy Clanton, are open to the public on Saturday – October 11, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home, with a family only, private burial service to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Randy Eason, Thomas Graham, Bobby Maxwell, Steve Parrish, Parker Stewart, and Leslie Cannady.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
