John (Jack) Carty of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away October 21, 2024 at age 81.
He graduated from Bishop Bradley High in Manchester, NH and went on to receive his BS in chemistry at the University of New Hampshire and his MBA at Marshall University.
It was at the University of New Hampshire that he met his loving wife, Gretchen Stahley Carty.
Jack was known for his quick wit and dedication to his family and career. He was active in several community organizations in Gallipolis, Ohio where he raised his family and shared his love of baseball through coaching youth.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gretchen Carty, along with their two children: Kevin (Kathy) Carty and Kristen (Bob) McAuliffe. Also survived by six grandchildren: Erin McAuliffe Smith, Kevin McAuliffe, Keenan McAuliffe, Kelly Carty, Jennifer Carty and Brandon Carty.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 21 at St. Bernadette's Church in Port St. Lucie, FL. Family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
A celebration of life will be held in Gallipolis, Ohio at a later date.
