Br. John William Casey CFC

Brother John William Casey CFC passed away on December 7, 2025 at the age of 79. Brother Casey was born on November 11,1946, the son of William T. and Kathryn Casey. Brother attended St. Mary's in Dumont, Wayne Senior High School in Wayne, NJ, Iona University, majoring in History, and St. John's University where he received his MA in History.
Brother Casey entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers on July 4, 1964 and professed his final vows on June 27, 1972.
Brother's ministry took him to several schools including, Rice High School, where he was school President, All Hallows High School, St. Cecilia Grammar School, East Harlem, St. Lucy's School, East Harlem, as Principal, and Tampa Catholic High School as Principal. Brother Casey served as the Director of Education for the Eastern American Province of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers and at, St. Philip Neri School, the Bronx, as Principal. Brother also served two terms on the leadership team of the Christian Brothers. Brother was most recently a member of the Brothers' community at St. Joseph's Residence, New Rochelle residing at St. Cabrini in Dobbs Ferry.
Brother Casey was predeceased by his parents William and Kathryn Casey. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Frances and Patricia Anne and his brother William.
The family and the Christian Brothers will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 10, from 2 PM to 4 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle, NY, on Thursday, December 11, at 10:30 AM.
Interment will be at the Christian Brothers' Cemetery in West Park, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Br. Casey's memory to St. Joseph's Residence, 30 Montgomery Circle, New Rochelle, NY, 10804.
