Born in Long Branch, NJ. John co-owned and operated with his brother Michael, Johnny G's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Toms River. Surviving are his wife Kymberley; 2 sons John Joseph Cataldo and Dominick Cadamatre; daughter Courtney Giordano and her husband Anthony; brother Michael and his wife Stephanie; sister Mary Jo Cataldo; 2 grandchildren Rocco and Bella; and his niece Patricia Mullenax and nephews Michael Stephen Cataldo and Matthew Cataldo.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Monday, October 11 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's memory to: American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736, American Diabetes Association, 1160 Route 22 East, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 or Gofundme.

Sending prayers to his family, last time I saw him was over 4 years ago when I came up to visit mom and dad. We went to the restaurant to eat. Heaven gained another angel..

I met John through the Frederick/Siletti families years ago as he and his wife Kym were just dating. He was and will always be remembered as a thoughtful and generous man. He barely knew me and went out of his way to make sure my dietary needs were met at any functions he was catering.
I admired how he adored his wife and am heavy hearted having to share a memory of a life cut too short.
My deepest condolences are with Kym, his brother, sister, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and legion of friends left devastated by this tremendous loss. All my love and prayers are with the Cataldo´s and may dear John Rest In Peace.
