John William Cedergren

After a long and hard-fought battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, complications from the disease took John’s life. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Marjorie Cedergren, brother Mark Cedergren, nephew John Ogren, Sheldon and Norma Swenson, niece Jillian Lees Willem and brother-in-law Gary Havlish.

 John is survived by his loving wife Janelle, son Donovan (Caylin), grandchildren Rylie and William.

Also survived by sons John Tyler and Kenny, sister Diane Ogren, and brother Kevin (Manna) Cedergren.

John was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduated from Mankato High School and Mankato State College. He proudly served in the United States Army. He began his own delivery company which flourished for 35 years. As a loyal member of Eagles Aerie 269, he served in many leadership positions. He was also active in the North Mankato Legion Post 518, Mankato Shrine Club and Mankato T-Birds. 

In addition to the kindness of numerous friends, we would like to extend our gratitude MCHS health care team, doctors, clinicians, technicians and nurses, and Mayo EMT for outstanding care.

A fellowship of remembrance will be held on October 19, 2024, with Military Honors at 1:30 and luncheon from 2:00-6:00 at the Mankato Eagles Club, 708 North Riverfront Dr. (Rock Street entrance), Mankato, MN.

Memorials will be designated to Mankato Eagles Club Cancer Fund.
